Yuan and Pat were honored to receive the 2017 Passano Award from the Passano Foundation. The Passano Foundation’s mission is detailed as follows:
“The Passano Foundation recognizes members of the medical and scientific community who have made an outstanding research contribution. Based upon the ideals and vision of the late Edward Boetler Passano, the Foundation presents an award each year to a research physician who has made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of medical science. Prime consideration is given to work that has immediate clinical value or gives promise of practical application in the near future. An annual award is also given to a young scientist or scientists to promote continuing research.”
