Dr. Harald zur Hausen, a Nobel Prize winning scientist, visited the University of Pittsburgh as part of the Laureate Lecture Series. Dr. Harald zur Hausen won the Nobel Prize due to his discovery of human papilloma viruses causing cervical cancer. The Cancer Virology Program and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute cosponsored his visit. We were honored not only by his visit but also his time spent speaking with our researchers.
